It’s National Dog Day on Saturday, a day when we can all celebrate the unconditional love we get from dogs. I have a lot friends and I truly enjoy each and every one of them. But there is nothing better than opening the door in the evening and getting the wholehearted, unfiltered greetings from my dogs. No matter what the day has been, their smiling happy faces make me feel good.

I have always committed to adopting my dogs. And every dog I have been lucky enough to call one of the family has been an incredible companion. The two dogs I have right now are both rescues. Bailey came from Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue and Sophie from Chicago French Bulldog Rescue. They have become best friends and I love them to pieces.

Sally from PET PANTRY just adopted her new pup, Panda, last Thursday at Howl at the Moon; a fantastic fund raising event from Little Traverse Bay Humane Society.  When you adopt from LTBHS, you go home with an adoption kit and a coupon from PET PANTRY for a free dog tag, made in the store, and 10% off your entire purchase.

So as we celebrate this National Dog Day…. think about adopting if you are looking for a dog. And if your home is full, make it a day where you take a moment and really appreciate everything a dog brings to your life.

We are lucky to have such good friends.
