Peanut butter has become a go-to for pet parents (and humans) everywhere, thanks to its A+ taste and creamy texture that dogs (and humans) love. However, it's important to understand that not all peanut butters are created equal when it comes to pet safety.

While we all love to spoil our pets, their health is our top priority. That's why it's important to make sure the peanut butter we share with our furry companions is as safe for them as it is for us.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Avoid Xylitol: This sugar substitute is toxic to dogs and must be avoided at all costs. Always check the label for ingredients.

  • Look for Minimal Additives: Choose peanut butter with the least amount of sugar, salt, and hydrogenated oils.

  • Stick to Moderation: Excessive indulgence can lead to health issues. Follow the 10% rule, keeping snacks to a minimum.

  • Be Cautious with Infused Products: When it comes to peanut butters infused with CBD or other nutrients for pets, it's important to pay close attention to the exact quantities being ingested. Serving sizes can easily be underestimated or overlooked, and additional ingredients may not be consistently distributed throughout the product.
